Creative minds return for Port Macquarie LitFest2444 2019
Port Macquarie's aspiring authors and movie makers will get the chance to meet their industry idols with the return of this year's LitFest2444.
The regional event gathers over 600 students interested in the written, spoken, visual and digital word with over 31 professionals for dozens of schools workshops on June 6.
The festival of words will feature 25 creative workshops and practical sessions with students from ten schools at Newman Senior Technical College. Presenters called up this year include Underdog editor Tobias Madden, manga artist Kenny Chan, poet Emilie Zoey Baker, audio producer Nicole Curby and headliner, The Gathering author Isobelle Carmody.
Annual returning presenter for film making and Young Australian Citizen of the Year 2012, Michael Wilkie said the presenters were a collection of the industry's best talent.
"I've been part of it for previous two years and not only is it a really great way of story telling but students can appreciate that English doesn't have to be boring," he said.
"Nowadays everyone can be a story teller with a phone, but we're able to show them a more professional way to express their stories.
"These are quality presenters, people who are at the top of their game and are happy to let children use industry quality equipment."
